I have climbed the career ladder in the nursing profession starting out at MiraCosta College, Oceanside, California graduating the CNA program in 1986 and their LVN program in 1989 with an A.A., A.S. Degree. In 1993, I continued my nursing journey at Palomar College, San Marcos, California to achieve my Registered Nursing  ADN. Subsequently, I achieved my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and Public Health Nurse Certificate in 1995 and my Masters of Science in Nursing in 2002 from University of Phoenix. With great aspiration to become an advanced practice nurse, I achieved my Family Nurse Practitioner from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in August of 2011.

As a proud Army Nurse Reservist for 13 years, I resigned my commission as a Captain in 2005. While serving in the United States Army Nurse Corps, I have provided nursing care in many specialty areas. I am a certified Army Instructor and taught pre-trauma nursing, combat lifesaver, and EMT bridge courses in the latter years of my commission.

I have worked in many capacities as a professional nurse including skilled nursing facilities and hospice nursing. I am currently a Professor of Nursing since 1998 teaching  RN’s, LVN’s and CNA’s.
