Preceptor with pediatric patient

About Us

Med Match was passionately founded by Linda Leon RN WHCNP  and Mary Wright RN MSN FNP as a result of many Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants voicing the need and the many challenges  of finding willing preceptors for each clinical rotation needed to graduate their program.

Our priority is to match you with the best qualified preceptors to meet your clinical goals. We will find the best preceptor for your rotation in the many specialty areas.

Linda Leon RN BS WHCNP

I have worked in various roles in healthcare over the last 30 years.  I am a registered nurse and hold a Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences from University of Redlands.  Additionally, I became a Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner from Harbor UCLA.   I began in hospital nursing which included rotations in medical surgical, labor and delivery and post partum.  I soon realized my passion was in women’s healthcare. I have worked for a corporation who managed high risk obstetrical patients as well as working as an independent contractor providing antepartum testing to private physicians.

The last nine years of my career I have worked as a Nurse Practitioner in an OB/GYN office providing healthcare to women throughout their lifespan.  During this time, I have acted as a preceptor for many nurse practitioner students.  I have thoroughly enjoyed mentoring  each student on their journey to becoming an advanced practice nurse which has been a very rewarding experience.

I have climbed the career ladder in the nursing profession starting out at MiraCosta College, Oceanside, California graduating the CNA program in 1986 and their LVN program in 1989 with an A.A., A.S. Degree. In 1993, I continued my nursing journey at Palomar College, San Marcos, California to achieve my Registered Nursing  ADN. Subsequently, I achieved my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and Public Health Nurse Certificate in 1995 and my Masters of Science in Nursing in 2002 from University of Phoenix. With great aspiration to become an advanced practice nurse, I achieved my Family Nurse Practitioner from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in August of 2011.

As a proud Army Nurse Reservist for 13 years, I resigned my commission as a Captain in 2005. While serving in the United States Army Nurse Corps, I have provided nursing care in many specialty areas. I am a certified Army Instructor and taught pre-trauma nursing, combat lifesaver, and EMT bridge courses in the latter years of my commission.

I have worked in many capacities as a professional nurse including skilled nursing facilities and hospice nursing. I am currently a Professor of Nursing since 1998 teaching  RN’s, LVN’s and CNA’s.
